SAMHSA awarded a five-year grant to the Smoking Cessation Leadership Center at UCSF to establish the National Center-TFR.

This Center will continue SAMHSA’s efforts to convene State Leadership Academies for Tobacco-Free Recovery to mobilize stakeholders to develop and implement a state-wide action plan to reduce the high prevalence rate of tobacco use by persons with mental and/or substance use disorders. In addition, the Center provides technical assistance, training, and educational resources to promote the adoption of tobacco-free facility/grounds policies and the integration of tobacco treatment into behavioral healthcare.
