Thursday, November 18, marks the American Cancer Society’s annual Great American Smokeout (GASO). The event, which has taken place on the third Thursday of November for over 40 years, serves as a reminder that for all the progress we have made as a nation in tobacco prevention and control, there are still nearly 38 million Americans smoking combustible cigarettes. The GASO is a call to action to increase tobacco cessation in the U.S.
