This presentation will also address the implications of ACEs on various systems, including education, healthcare, and social services, and explore strategies for prevention, intervention, and resilience-building.

Compassion Fatigue

Compassion Fatigue Defined Tier 1 provides a comprehensive exploration of compassion fatigue and the critical importance of self-awareness in managing its effects. Additionally, the learner will examine the impact of substance use on individuals, families, and communities, fostering an understanding of the multifaceted consequences.

Crisis NOW/Crisis Response System

Introduction to Crisis Now Response Systems Tier 1 provides an introduction to Crisis Now Response Systems. Learners will gain an awareness of how crisis response plays a role in helping others.

Cultural Considerations

Introduction to Cultural Humility Tier 1 provides an introduction to cultural considerations in the context of healthcare and human services. Partipants will utilize the Cultural Factors Wheel, which examines the multifaceted aspects of culture that influence individuals’ health beliefs, behaviors, and interactions with care providers. This presentation aims to clarify the distinctions between cultural competence, cultural sensitivity, and cultural humility.

Self-Care

Overview of Self-Care Introduces the foundational framework of the Seven Pillars of Self-Care and the Health Belief Model from a micro-perspective. Tier 1 is inteded to discuss how health promotion initiatives, health literacy interventions, and education and coaching can serve as effective interventions to promote self-care behaviors. Learners are encouraged to prioritize self-care, as a means for cultivating a more balanced and fulfilling life that supports their overall health and wellbeing.

Suicide Prevention

Awareness in Suicide Prevention Tier 1 is designed to provide comprehensive training and awareness in suicide prevention, focusing on available resources and initiatives in Nevada. Learners will explore various training opportunities, offered by the Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In addition, the presentation discusses the transition to the new 988 mental health crisis hotline, aiming to encourage individuals to shift from using the former 800 number and 911, to the designated 988 number.

Trauma

Exposure to Trauma Concepts Tier 1 focuses on providing a comprehensive overview of trauma, incorporating insights from the Trauma-Informed Care, and explores its connection to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) as well as relevant crisis risk factors and statistics.
