Easy Wins and Lifestyle Strategies: Using Nutrition to Combat Diabetes: An Educational Series for Community Health Workers

July 12 – August 2, 2022
Tuesdays from 12:00 – 1:00 PM

This clinic is aimed at Community Health Workers with specific aims to help increase their capacity knowledge base with respect to diabetes education. Our goal with this series is to increase confidence and skills for Nevada’s Community Health Workers who work with patients/clients with diabetes by providing evidence based resources, tools, and support. This program not only gives CHWs an opportunity to review and discuss their clients with an expert in the field, it also provides didactic topic areas focused on Easy Wins and Lifestyle Strategies for Using Nutrition to Combat Diabetes. This series also supports Nevada Community Health Workers’ continuing education by providing six hours of approved CMEs. 

Approved for CHW Continuing Education Units (CEUS)
This series is approved for for Certified CHWs and CHW II Applicants by the Nevada Certification Board.

Free Nutrition Training for Community Health Workers (CHWs) Starting July 12, 2022 Easy Wins and Lifestyle Strategies: Using Nutrition To Combat Diabetes ECHO Series – launches July 12th 2022 at 12pm PST Project ECHO Nevada invites you to their upcoming 6-session free series entitled Easy Wins and Lifestyle Strategies: Using Nutrition To Combat Diabetes. This program is for Community Health Workers looking to increase their knowledge base with respect to diabetes education. Easy Wins and Lifestyle Strategies: Using Nutrition To Combat Diabetes Series Schedule July 12th, 2022: Program Orientation July 19th, 2022: Introduction into Healthy Nutrition, Dietary Guidelines and Easy Wins July 26th, 2022: Carbohydrate Counting and Managing Hyperglycemia and Hypoglycemia August 2nd, 2022: Grocery Shopping, Cooking Tips, Reading Labels, Meal Plans August 9th, 2022: Physical Activity & Staying Active August 16th, 2022: Motivational Interviewing, Reducing Bias, and Being a Good Role Model   *Dates subject to change   This is a free program with CME/CEU credit available for Community Health Workers 1.0 credit hours will be available per session.
