National Addiction Treatment Week

National Addiction Treatment Week is an initiative which promotes that addiction is a disease, evidence-based treatments are available, and recovery is possible. The week also highlights the need for clinicians to enter the field of addiction medicine.

Each year, National Addiction Treatment Week raises awareness about the gap between the number of patients who need addiction treatment and qualified medical professionals available to treat patients using evidence-based approaches. The week highlights the critical need for more clinicians to enter the field of addiction medicine. View compelling videos of medical professionals sharing how treating addiction and/or becoming board certified in addiction medicine has impacted their careers.  Also, explore ways to be involved!

Mark your calendar today and join us in encouraging the medical community to “treat addiction and save lives!”

  • Follow @TreatmentWeek on Twitter – Share the week’s messages using the week’s toolkit
  • Use hashtag #TreatmentWeek to share your perspectives on why it is important to treat addiction
  • Visit www.treataddictionsavelives.com to record your own video to motivate your colleagues to treat addiction
  • Inspire medical professionals to learn more about treating addiction
  • Urge physicians to consider becoming certified in addiction medicine
