International Overdose Awareness Day Washoe County Event

Meet at the Believe Sign in City Plaza at 5:00 PM to join us for a walk of remembrance to Wingfield Park. Attendees will be invited to share messages of hope and recovery.

Empty Shoes to End Overdose 
As part of International Overdose Awareness Day attendees care invited to bring a photo pf a loved one lost to overdose and a pair of shoes to symbolize their absence in the world. The names will be read aloud at  the ceremony and a bell will be rung in their honor. Shoes may be collected by participants after the event or left behind and donated to people seeking recovery from a substance use disorder.
International Overdose Awareness Day is recognized around the world as a day to acknowledge individual loss and family grief for people who have suffered an overdose.
