What is CIT?
Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) are a pre-booking jail diversion program designed to improve the outcomes of first responders with people with mental illnesses.
Why Do We Need CIT?
CIT equips first responders and community partners to interact with individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis, by:
- Providing specialized training
- Creating a community collaboration
CIT Works — for law enforcement, for consumers, and for the community.
Pre-registration and approval is required for Crisis Intervention Training and prison access. Registration closes May 15, 2021 at 5:00pm.
